**ADVANCED READER REVIEW**
I’ve always been skeptical of short stories. I’ve always felt like there isn’t enough words for
me to feel properly connected to the characters and engrossed in their story, but this
collection has completely changed my mind.
Autumn is my favourite season so when I was given the opportunity to read and review Of
Cottages and Cauldrons, I knew I had to snatch it up. This anthology is beautifully woven
together with stories of romance and stories of witches. I never found myself bored but I did
find myself wanting more. More stories from the authors of this festive and fun collection.
One of the things I loved most about this anthology is the unique narrative to every story. The
editors didn’t work to make the stories all similar, to make the voices follow the same rules as
one another. Every story stands on its own. Every story made me feel something different.
For those of you that have been following me for a while, you’ll know that I really don’t go
for contemporary or romance novels. It’s not that they’re bad, they just don’t appeal to me.
The stories in this collection were different , though. I didn’t feel trapped in a world of
contemporary because woven throughout are stories of witches and stories of spooks. The
balance of the collection is exactly what I needed.

This autumn anthology consists of 10 short stories. I really loved each one and appreciate how each one was very unique and different. There’s definitely a story for everyone. Some stories were a bit shorter and I would’ve loved to read a bit more, but I really enjoyed the concept of each one.

Personally, I really enjoyed The Void the most because it was so fun reading about the old man after his wife had died and him seeing the ghost of his wife. The ending to that one was so good and I loved it. I also enjoyed the creepiness to Knock Knock. Those two were my favorite, but all of them were still great.

I definitely think each one of these stories can become a book itself. Each were great premises and the authors did a fantastic job. Such a fun read for autumn and I highly recommend this anthology.

Huge thank you to @tjazzauthor and @jazzhousepub for sending me a copy for an honest review. Also thank you to all the authors who wrote this anthology. Can’t wait to read more from them!!
