I was sooo looking forward to reading this beauty and it fully lived up to my expectations. I mean, look at this gorgeous and thoughtful cover and blurb: This book is beautiful inside out!

I can't and won't hide that I am a huge fan of this author. She has an amazingly captivating writing style and her characters feel so very real. I fell for Wilder and Jax immediately. Their connection is one you find only once in a lifetime. It is something every romance reader's heart longs for.

Love Always, Wild is a soul touching, heart breaking love story where both characters have a lot to grow and growing up to do. It touches many different but very important topics which are all handled with delicate care.

My recommendation: go in as blindly as possible and let yourself get carried away by the wild river of true love.

A book so full of emotion. It certainly teached me some lessons. But for sure one thing: don't be afraid to love. Love wild, always!

Love. always wild... This book.*sigh*

Love Always, Wild by AM Johnson is a wonderful book about love, loss, pain, love, heartache, disability, love, confusion, mean people, good people, and even more love. It's the story of two lovers ripped apart at a young age who find each other again. Still in love, they have to work through trust and abandonment issues, family problems, long distance, and careers to reach their HEA. It's extremely romantic, pretty steamy, super angsty, and, every once in a while, it's quite funny.

喜欢这里没用的书信体,不过现实向的我毕竟不太感兴趣,Jax和他妈妈的对话我基本都跳过了,只看jax和wild甜甜的那些部分

ANOTHER hurt/comfort. WTF is wrong with me…

2nd chance
30 year old MCs

🤮 Slurs f word
Homophobia

Email/Text correspondence 🥺 defiantly a theme I love.

So much internalised homophobia by Jax
So much emotion

Despite his internal conflict Jax goes all in with Wild refusing to waste his second chance knowing he’s never loved anyone else and 9 years on he’s still madly hooked on Wild. I love that he just snaps and comes out consequences be damned.

Good balance of sad story and spicy

So thrilled that the epilogue was years after the book and not months.

Okay, nothing special, just meh. Liked Jax. Liked Ethan more than Wilder, would have been happy to see Jax and he end up together! Narration was fine. Not fussed either way about continuing with the series.

It's rare that I find a book I absolutely adore and love to my core since I've started reading MM romance as my main genre. Usually a simplistic formula is used and while it provides comfort, it lacks suprise and wonder that I so desperately crave from when I first started reading MM romance last year.

This book was a breath of fresh air. While we didn't see how they initially fell in love, I absolutely love the back and forth emails between the two and when they eventually got back together. Wilde reminds me so much a friend of mine and I couldn't stop laughing at his hilarious antics and him being massive dick at random times and honestly I low-key also related to poor Jax story. In the end they finally got their HEA and I couldn't have been happier.

Amazing book, refreshing with a amazing writing. Can't wait to read more from this author.

I really loved first half of the book, it was soulful. Every line made my heart constrict and filled my eyes with tears. I thought it was going to be another 5 star read but the other half somehow disappointed me. I felt it was self-centered on Jax and Wild too much.

I wish there were some more moments in the past. It would have been helpful to connect with them. I wanted to read about their first meeting, how Wild agreed to tutor Jax on bio-chemistry and about their first kiss too. There were small snippets of it but it wasn't enough.

I definitely have a thing for E-mails. It makes me feel that they're two real people and not some fictional character. Every email was heart touching. I especially loved the last e-mail of wild.

I never understood why people think it's a choice made by men/women to love someone in the same gender. I was disturbed that Jax too felt they made a sin by being with each other. I was angry with him for thinking like that and at the same time felt sorry that he's trying to hide a huge part of him.

I really loved anders though there was just few moments with him. He loved Wild with all his heart and came to help him when Wild was hurting. He is a good person and I am excited to read his story. I hope to know more about his life and I want to be a part of it.

I loved everyone of the characters even Jax's mom. Though she believed that it was a sin to be a homosexual, she gradually accepted Wild as he made Jax happy.

"It has always been my belief you should chase after the things you want with actions, not words. There is no such thing as never meant to be."

This was an alright read. Nothing special, just an overall meh.

I won't lie, me being the shallow gal that I am the cover is what piqued my interest first, then the blurb. It looked like a sexy, intense, and passionate read and when I finally read it, it was again just meh. I am not disappointed or anything, was just expecting something different.

I did like the emails they exchanged back and forth, very personal and sweet. I liked Wilder and I understood where he was coming from, when he basically panicked and saw Jax for the first time. All of his feelings and emotions were valid.

I also liked Jaxon's brother; Jason, his mom and Ethan, even though I was skeptical of the mother at first. But his brother and Ethan were really the best part of this book. I didn't really care for the romance if I am being honest. I did not feel that it was the best part of the book, the side characters were more interesting.

I did not like Jaxon in the first-half of the book, he was annoying. The second-half, he was more tolerable.

I rolled my eyes over the internalized homophobia and the religious fanatics who loved to preach "being gay is sin". Its been done to death and I am tired of it. I also was annoyed with Jaxon because while he was in the "closet" he led women on and used them because he was a coward, maybe that's not fair to say but it was a shitty thing to do. Most of the book he is in the "closet" and towards his "reunion" with Wilder he is suddenly "out" and confidently gay, there was no buildup or character growth, it felt sudden and forced. I did not care for the reunion either. Wilder forgave him too quickly and there was barely any groveling. Their romance also felt forced and I didn't enjoy the angst or the tension I was supposed to feel as the reader.

All in all, this was an average read with average plot and characters except for Ethan and Jason. Even though book 1 was meh, I am going to still continue with this series, because I liked Ethan and Anders. So I am looking forward to book 2, hopefully its better. I will say this though, the author writes really beautifully and I did enjoy the writing, but wish the romance was done better.
