A sweet book, but nothing special.

I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of the cozy fantasy genre. Even though things happened, there was never anything that kept me on my toes or anything, and I never felt a desire to pick this book up.

Aside from that, this was still sweet and all the characters were very lovable.

I really enjoyed this book.  As a women in STEM I feel like I really related to the main character in a lot of ways.  She is very autistic coded and just fits a bunch of stereo types, but she grows in really nice ways in the book.  I feel it is never forced or felt like it didn't feel like the next logical step in her progression and her flaws are not what I thought drove the story.

The Faerie and Magic system in this book is really nice.  Gives like the things you see in the corner of your eye as a kid or adult that give you pause rather than being overt.  It is an interesting book and my love of the setting and characters gave it the 4.75.  I feel like the plot at the end lost me, but it worked fine.  I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
