I never thought I would enjoy this book since it’s urban fantasy, but I ended up picking it up from the library on a whim during my Throne of Glass hangover. I am so glad I did because I ended up really loving it (except for the first 60 pages, which were very heavy on the world-building and a little hard to get through). The plot was PLOTTING. The twists and turns in this book gave me the same feelings that some of the Throne of Glass books gave me. Also, I absolutely loved the depiction of female friendship in this book. It was so refreshing to see the undying love between friends save the day instead of the romantic love. Did everything wrap up a little too nicely in the end to be completely realistic? Yes, but we love it anyway. I can’t wait to read the next one.

So many emotions. I cried and YELLED in anger while reading!! Then cried again. This series is not the same vibe to ACOTAR, so don’t go in expecting the same. SO GOOD!

LIGHT IT UP!!!!

I was NOT disappointed with Maas. I was so nervous for this book, but I should have trusted her. The first 200 pages are world building so it was a tad boring for me, but after that I was in love. I couldn't put it down. This is so amazing and I 100% recommend it
