Another fun story from Hannah Swensen and her friends! I love that no matter what happening, there's always a freshly baked sweet for everyone to enjoy!

I don't know how to rate this outing in the Hannah Swensen series. On the one hand, I dig Moishe doing his felonious feline routine. On the other hand you have the rest of the book.

In the battle for Hannah's heart, a victor has finally been named. And had this happened, oh I dunno, nine books back, I'd have bought it. I even remember vaguely rooting for it if it meant a decision was made. Yeaaaaah...

Do you remember Ross, one of Hannah's old flames from college? He does movies and appeared waaaaaaaay back in book #8 long enough to set Hannah's heart aflutter and then dropped off the face of the earth for the rest of the series. Well, turns out that he was totally still in touch with the entire Swensen clan and is Doc's best man when Doc marries Hannah's mother. Three days in Vegas and Hannah's head over heels in love with Ross.

If you were/are a die-hard Norman or Mike supporter, you might want to take a seat. And perhaps some chocolate or other tasty treat because the Ross Is The One Train just keeps chugging along even as Mike continues to prove that he was kept in the race entirely too long and Norman is... well, Norman. I can't even pretend to not be biased in my long held hope that Norman would sweep Hannah off her feet eventually. Thing is, I'm pretty sure that if we'd heard from Ross every so often during the series after he went back to California (and by every so often I mean visits or anything that made a lasting impression) I might have been cheering him on because he wasn't Mike.

But to have him just reappear seems forced and strange and I admit I spent the rest of the book looking for clues that he was actually too good to be true. Which could totally still happen! I... just don't see it happening.

Still, I tried to talk myself out of my funk. It was difficult, though, because the rest of the book is rather strange. I like the Hannah and Michelle interactions, but I still find that Tracey, Hannah's niece, sounds entirely too old for her age and it's jarring. Usually one of the better things about Hannah books is that you can solve the crime along with Hannah (or ahead of her since she usually stumbles into the villain's clutches at the second to last chapter) but this one had a lot of build up to conversations we never were privy to (Personally, I'd have loved to hear Sheila's gossip.) and we had to take a lot of people's words on whether they were where they claimed to be or not and even then it didn't matter since the killer wasn't even introduced until the last fourth of the book.

I suppose points should be awarded to the series as a whole since my reaction to Hannah's choice was so strong.

This is probably my favorite ever because I loved how instead of choosing between Norman and Mike they threw us a total curve. It's sillier than words can say but so awesome. I love this series!

This book was alright. Glad that she finally picked a man. Don't understand how a business woman can't figure out how to use a cellphone.
