At first I was not for the Ross thing. But he's growing on me and he seems to be the one Hannah wants. I'm still #TeamNorman though.

Well for one I've always hated the recipes in between the chapters. Just stick them in at the end of the book, like some other series. In this case it was more annoying because this book felt so half baked. Like maybe there was more concern for the recipes than the actual book. Everything came out of left field, Ross.. the murderer.. I read so much that I honestly didn't remember Ross. Then to have the relationship go 0 to 60 was a bit much. I hate love triangles, I especially hate this one, and to finally solve it by adding yet another guy? Why did we have to suffer through all those books??
This book just felt weird. Like someone else wrote it or something. I'm not sure that I will read the next book after this mess.

The dialog for this entire series sounds like it was written by a 3rd grader. It's stilted, and ridiculous.
The story line is just as ridiculous. A 30 something woman who can't even figure out how to turn on a cell phone? A mom going on a honeymoon when her daughter is being charged with murder and may go to jail? And a 3rd man in love with her?
And yet I read every book. I can't explain it. The books are not good, but I read them all anyway, and will probably read the next one when it comes out.

I don't know why I keep reading this series. Hannah is more of and insufferable know it all with every book. And did she really need another boyfriend?
It was also ridiculous that one whole chapter was basically a recipe that had nothing to do with the story.
And the mystery was horrible. It was almost an after thought. It was resolved by just throwing in a random new suspect.
This is definitely the last I will read in this series. I should have stopped long ago.

If you enjoy a cozy mystery and you like to bake then this is a series of mysteries for you. Light, predictable, and thoroughly enjoyable.
I gave this book 2.5 out of 5 stars. The beginning of this book started off a bit shaky in writing. I was concerned for a while, unsure how the book was going to continue. While I have loved the story and characters throughout the series, I am also getting tired of the plot line. Every book involves a murder discovered and investigated by Hannah Swensen, the beloved main character and owner of the Cookie Jar bakery. The series is very similar to the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, f anyone has read any of those books, but instead of bail bonds, Hannah bakes cookies. Of course there is a love triangle that never seems to have a definitive decision made, cop vs. "guy next door," and crazy relatives to boot. What I do love in these stories are the recipes in each book which may be the one of the only reasons I continue to keep reading the series. It's hard to give you any more specifics about this book without giving anything away since the stories are short and all pieces transfer over from book to book. I will say this, Hannah is getting closer to making a decision about her love life (finally!!) and there are some tasty sounding recipes included that I am looking forward to trying!
