There was a lot more to like and dislike than I expected. First the art. I hate the art. I hate the style of the art. But the choices in the art are so cute. The expressions on the faces are adorable. The backgrounds are really nice. I don't like the text, it's trite and kind of boring, but not completely. The message is fine and then the mouse gets to be the hero. Not a great book, but at least it is interesting and somewhat surprising.

His graphic design education really pays off in his rendering of cat fur, as well as his ability to remove any emotional connection to the subject.
