'My Master Has No Tail' Volume 3 really picks up the pace of the story by introducing new characters and an overarching plot point. As Mameda continues her apprenticeship, we learn more about the other rakugo masters. The author does a great job of incorporating rakugo stories into the plot points and moments of this volume. It's clear how much they know about rakugo and are working to incorporate it into the larger story. I also really appreciate that the context notes are given between chapters, not at the end of the volume as with many volumes of manga as it allows for context directly after specific scenes and allows me to remember more and connect more than when context is provided only at the end of the volume. This volume sets up a plot point that should cover a few volumes and will test Mameda and her rakugo skills. I'm excited to see where the story goes next as I feel like it's really picking up steam and hitting its stride.
