Good but not great. The miscommunication trope has me on edge and wanting to scream at Kade and Stacey. I’m glad Kade told her the truth in the end but now I need Stacey to put on her big girl pants and tell him what happened to her
Chris can burn in the deepest pits of hell and take Bernadette and her cuckcold with him
Overall, it was and enjoyable read and I’m definitely going to continue onto the next book in the trilogy

This book was an incredible introduction to the Edge of Darkness trilogy! I’ve heard so many amazing things about it for so long, and it definitely lives up to the hype! Insatiable leaves you hanging, desperate for more! Thankfully Voracious and Restitution are already out in print form, with audiobooks coming soon. Let me tell you, the audio narration on this was phenomenal. A multi-cast duet, featuring Lucy Rivers and Teddy Hamilton, with Shane East, Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, Roxelana Waters, and JF Harding?! SOLD, times infinity! They. Were. AMAZING.
Stacey and Kade had been dancing around each other for years as growing up. He was her best friend’s twin brother, so of course he was always around. The two traded looks and glances for ages, until one night a game, a tent, and a kiss happened. What they timidly continued after that was a secret to everyone. Until an even bigger and more sinister secret tore them apart. The next two years became about survival, forgetting the person they had once loved, had once been, moving forward, and about protection. Even at the cost of oneself. However, a trip to America brought them together once again, old feelings resurfacing, bringing with them pain…and danger.
What a ride this was! This was one of those stories that had you living in the present, while also traveling back in time to discover the foundation of the MCs and why it broke apart. Stacey is it for Kade, whether or not he can have her now. She has secrets that someday she will need to divulge, but reliving such pain and trauma is too much. The push and pull between these two flew off the page. Leigh Rivers has such a gift of story telling, pulling the reader in, weaving this intricate tale, leaving us raw, full of emotions, and utterly invested in the character’s lives. This story has a lot of triggers, but it also has reflection, growth, protection, some morally gray characters, spice, dirty talk, heart, hope, love, and so much more.
The narration of this story was jaw dropping. This has to be one of, if not my favorite performance by Lucy Rivers. She drew me in from the beginning, with the accent, with how she portrayed the raw emotions of Stacey, and kept me in a chokehold until the bitter end. Teddy Hamilton, he really could narrate the driest textbook and make it sound fascinating. He WAS Kade. We heard and could feel Everything. Every emotion, every desire, the feelings of uncertainty of his feelings, his despair, his desire, his rage. Umm, who was going to tell me that Shane East as the villain, and I’m talking the villains you WANT unalived, was going to be my new favorite side of him?? My gosh. I don’t even know how to put it into words! Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, Roxelana Waters, and JF Harding were each incredible in their own right. Each and every time I hear them I am in AWE. Like, jaw on the floor at their massive talent and ability to draw us even deeper into the story. I can’t wait to hear more from this ridiculously talented cast!
Holy smokes. Must Love Audio. I am incredibly grateful that I was picked to listen and review this audiobook. You keep picking me for bangers, and I keep devouring them like a monster on a mission! 😅 THANK YOU! And of course thank you to Leigh Rivers for writing books that are so freaking good and leave us salivating for more! East House Productions. I LOVE these dark titles that you are producing! Keep it up because shit…they are freaking fantastic!!
💃🏽“No one f***s Stacey and gets away with it. I can’t have her, but nobody else will.”
🔫“When I find out who hurt you, I’m going to f***ing destroy them. I’ll make sure to bleed them dry then f*** you next to their corpse. You got that?”
💃🏽“He’s a million shades of psychotic obsession, but somehow, he was the one who made me see that I was falling in love with Stacey when I was a teenager.”
🔫‘As he thr^sts in, I moan, “Oh God.” There’s a sting on my a** cheek, and he grits out, “I’m not putting all this effort in for you to call some other f***er’s name.” He pummels into me harshly. “Say my f***ing name.”’
💃🏽“She feels so w3t, warm and ready. She feels like mine. Stacey Rhodes is mine.”
🔫“Because you’re hiding, and I want to hide with you.” I caress her cheek and press my lips to her forehead, catching her off guard. “Let’s hide together, Freckles.”
💃🏽“As rich as I was becoming, I was an empty vessel. I still am, but in the past week or so, I became that teenager again, who had no idea how to use a gun or the deep horrors of the underworld. Just the nervous kid who fancied his sister’s best friend.”

This was way too painful, I can't imagine what's going to happen next. They just needed to have a conversation and everything would've been fine.
Did I say it was painful? Because it was
