This is pretty high on my list for top dark romance books I have read so far. Every character is completely insane but I didn't care one bit. They are also so toxic together but still can’t keep away from each other. I can’t wait for Kade to find out what happened to her the night he thinks she cheated on him and see what psycho shit he does afterwards. I’m curious what’s going to happen in the next book and where this story leads to.
What in the Wattpad? At the time of this review, I am deeply confused by this book having an average rating of 4.25 across 46,600 ratings.
The improbable plot holes are what killed this for me faster than a coked out Kade Mitchell pulling the trigger on a contract target. The smut was smutting and the flashbacks to the beginning of Stacey and Kade’s relationship in their teenage years was sweet, but this wasn’t enough to hold this implausible mess together.
I have learned that I do need a viable plot to enjoy a story, regardless of how hot the morally grey romance is.

Let’s just says I’m glad that I didn’t read these when they were released because I simply wouldn’t be able to wait to read that next one
There’s some,thing about Leigh Rivers writing that is the perfect combination of giving you enlighten detail without it being too much but also letting you use your imagination and create visuals in your head.
Everything about this was perfect. There are heavier topics mentioned but the way they were spoke about wasn’t overwhelming and also didn’t distract from the characters or the plot of the book.
I’ve read a handful of dark romance books and some with similar plot lines, so I felt some of what happened to be predictable but there were also things I was expecting to happen that haven’t, which I am hoping will be in the second or third book because I’m desperate for some certain things to happen.
Although I read this over 2 days I did not want to put this down and am so glad this is one of the books to help me out of my reading slump.
If you are questioning or hesitating about reading this book, DONT. You need to read this immediately. The perfect combination of dark romance and smut without every chapter being spicy, heavy and important topics, enemies to lovers and best friends brother. You can’t get much better!!
