Insatiable by Leigh Rivers is a dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton, Lucy Rivers, Shane East, JF Harding, Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, and Roxelana Waters. This is the first book in The Edge of Darkness series.

Oh my.... I was pulled in from the very beginning and couldn't help but binge this book in one sitting. The chemistry and banter between Kade and Stacey is off the charts. I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on a cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series Voracious so I can get more of their story.

I absolutely loved that they did a full cast of narrators for this series. It really brings the story to life. I love all these narrators and can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romance, best friends brother romance, enemies to lover's romance, or second chance romance.

My god. If this man begged to kiss her ONE MORE TIME I would’ve lost it. Please have some dignity my dude!!! That said, I mostly did like the MMC. He was complex, showed a surprisingly weird amount of emotion (for an alluded psychopath), had actual depth… blah blah blah. I also thought him calling her Freckles was cute, as was some of their banter.

FMC… BFR!!! “iF I tELL kADe, cHrIs wIlL hUrT hIM.” Really? The literal mass murderer? Versus that fly-buzzing-in-your-face, lame-ass excuse of a stepbrother??? I’m going to need you to be so serious. It’s giving “Who would win: 10,000 gorillas or 1 bitch-ass man with 100 burner phones?” Girl PLEASEEEEEEE. I genuinely didn’t understand why she kept all these secrets, as if that man had any more power to ruin her life than he already had. Like what?? That made no sense to me. Which then really made me side-eye the entire premise. Ever heard of moving out, changing your number, and going to therapy? Problem solved. The man is yours. Story over. Honestly, maybe it’s on me for expecting more than surface-level depth from a book like this, so I’ll shut up now

Also, why was she constantly calling him “my ex” like it was his legal name? At some point it started feeling less like emotional damage and more like lazy writing. I probably would’ve enjoyed this mess more if it was written better… but it’s the author’s debut, so I’ll cut her some slack. I did like the addition of the flashbacks. Anyways, don’t mind me as I expeditiously start book two.

OMG. If I could give this book a trillion stars I would. Zade Meadows is not in HEAVY competition with Kade. Lord have mercy. If the non-consensual feel of the Cat and Mouse Duet series bothered you, Kade is your man. He asks for permission, knows what she wants, how she wants, and then asks if she is okay. I did not expect to SOB my eyes out at the end of this book. This book is so good. Not talked about enough on "booktok."
