King Rygon sends Josen (H), his personal assassin, on an undercover mission to the lowtowns of Solenhold to weed out a rogue dark elf faction. Like most other dark elves, Josen looks down on the humans who live there, believing them to be the lowest of the low, mere beings to be toyed with by dark elves such as himself. Verina (h) and her parents struggle to exist in lowtown, just like all those around them, and her actions to save a boy bring her to the dark elf solders' attention. She is 'gifted' to 'Esani,' the identity Josen is hiding under, and things heat up as he awakens her physically despite her hatred of the dark elves. Josen/Esani treats Verina roughly, but she comes to see that he's protecting her in his own way, and a connection forms between the two of them. But when Josen's targets realize what he's doing in lowtown, things take a dark turn for Josen, Verina, and the other humans with lives on the line. Josen realizes just how important Verina is to him and will stop at nothing to protect her and their future togther - the sacrifice he makes, wow, though at least Carmichael helps him regain what he lost. Hot and steamy human-dark elf forbidden dark romance with plenty of violence, rough sex, spanking, and more.
