⭐️⭐️ARC Review ⭐️⭐️
What even is the plot? I feel like the plot is so muddled it’s hard to fully understand what the plot even is.
There’s no world building, not even one chapter dedicated to world building so as a reader you are thrust in with the concept you’ll understand the world around.
The repeated use of “ancestors” feels very much like a rip off of Sarah J. Maas’ use of “cauldron” and was very over used.
I’m all for spice but Veyka is such an annoying FMC with her constant need to find the next male to sleep with. It seemed like every chapter all Veyka can think of is what man she can get in her bed or showing her body in a way to persuade a man to do something.
I can never seem to DNF books but this book really tested my ability to push through. I’ll read book 2 and 3 to see if things get better but I’m really disappointed in book 1.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for providing me a copy of this book.

Great book! I had just come off of another series with a similar premise but I will say in some ways this captured my attention more! I related strongly to the loss of a love one and the grief and anger that can come with that. I liked reading the romance slowly develop between Arran and Vayka and I most certainly didn’t expect that ending!

This was such a great book to start the new year with! Veyka and Arran had such an interesting story!
I did struggle some with understanding everything that was going on at the beginning, but as I progressed everything was much easier to understand! Just took some getting used to.
Veyka definitely had a very challenging and honestly sad life, and I feel like because she knew so many people expected so much from her, she’s became overwhelmed and just did what she wanted to. Arran came in with preconceived ideas about her and was able to slowly learn more about her. Veyka did the same with him. The pair was immediately attracted to each other physically and were able to slowing grow some sort of bond.
Hopefully we see more romantic moments between Veyka and Arran in the next book!
The plot was also very interesting and it had me trying to figure out what was REALLY happening in the kingdom. There’s a good bit of plot twists and this one does end with a cliffhanger.
I would recommend this! 💜

4.5/5 stars.
This book started a bit slow for me, but around 20% in, it started flowing well. This def was a great story, and the twist on King Arthur was quite fun. The ending was absolutely phenomenal, and I can't wait to start the second! Arran and Veyka are a PERFECT pair, and her knights of the round table are perfectly suited. The Smutty sides of this book were a BIT cringe sometimes, but other than that and a few editing issues... I will def finish this series! 10/10 recommend.

I love an Arthurian retelling with a twist so the magic system combined with high courts was interesting. Incredibly spicy and despite being enemies to lovers, very insta-love? Also while I did enjoy a more “normal” woman representation of the FMC, I know too much about her boobs. Basically a little bit of a mess in places but will still try to read the next one!
This was a fun read. It’s a super loose reimagination of Camelot and I’m not super familiar with the original Camelot story, just the basics so this was a wild ride for me.
I love a good enemies to lovers and this is amazing. The absolute hate that comes from both of them is hilarious and exhausting all at the same time, but when it happens the spice factor sure does get turned up.
I have about a dozen questions now that the end is here. What happens next? The last 5 pages I thought, wow this is great and I love this to WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
There are a lot of characters and some of them were a little hard to keep track of at first but once I figured it all out, the story went fast. The world building is great. The powers introduced are fresh and different. The potential power we might see has me so excited for the next.

I enjoyed this book. It felt a lot like Briar Boleyn's Queen of Roses to me and I am obsessed with that series. About like 15% into this book I was searching to see if the two were related and outside of the inspiration material of King Arther I couldn't find anything. That being said, their stories are not the same, but the writing felt remarkably similar. }
About this book. I read it in one sitting and was the second book I finished this day. I truly enjoyed the story and the writing. Yes there were some formatting mistakes, but nothing that took me out of the story.
I have always been one for a strong FMC, and this book delivers. She might be a little too strong and hard-headed in some cases, but none the less she is a "I am Woman hear me Roar" type character. I do wish the MMC gave her a little more space to make her own choices. I understand in the plot why that was not the case, but I still wish he let her make her own choices as she is the Queen, albeit not by choice but Queen none the less.
I do recommend this book if you like:
Forced Proximity
Arranged Marriage
Trauma Bonding
Duel POV
Strangers to Lovers (I cant really call them enemies since they aren't entirely enemies)
Arthurian Fae Fantasy
Thank you NetGalley and Emberly Ash for the opportunity to read the eArc. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Review readers, please note that these are my own honest opinions in exchange for the chance to read the ARC.

I was so excited to get the ARC from Net Galley, so happy I got to read this now. Wow, what a ride! I really enjoyed this, it has so much to offer. It’s a fantasy set in King Arthur’s legend, but with fairies. Fairies, magic, spice and wonderful story telling! The world building was very well done, I found it interesting and also easy to follow. The characters were great, I liked seeing how they interacted and grew. But the ending
