"The Wrong Woman" audiobook by Leanne Kale Sparks, is a twisty whodunit that will be published February 8th, 2022.
This book immediately grabs the readers attention with the intense heart gripping disappearance of a 5-year-old child named Emily. Agent Kendall Beck, is called in to help find Emily. Kendall is dedicated and determined to get to the bottom of Emily's disappearance and bring her back home. Additionally, Kendall's roommate and best friend Gwen goes missing. Detective Adam Taylor is brought in to work with Kendall during this devastating time looking for Gwen, but will they be able to find Gwen and solve the missing person's cases?
This book will rip your heart out from the very first chapter. I listened to it on an extended trip. It was the perfect audiobook to keep me involved in the suspense during a long car ride. The book follows multiple cases with different characters, but I was able to figure it out and easily follow along. Through the author's descriptive writing, I felt the drama and intense emotional pain in each situation. I was able to visualize the scenes as they played out in the book. Was the book perfect? No! It's a complicated novel, but I was really drawn into the development of the story and could not wait to find out what happened in each chapter.
Warning: Child Sexual Abuse, Violence,

I really enjoyed this book, I found it hard to put down! It drew me in immediately and did a great job of keeping me hooked. Adam and Kendall were both great characters who I’d love to read more about. While I had my predictions, I was still a bit surprised at the ending. I did feel there were a couple unanswered questions, but overall, it was a great story. I plan to read more by this author.

This book seemed to have to many coincidences for me to get into this story it was ok but nothing that will stick with me. The story follows Kendall an FBI agent that was working a missing kid case that turned out to be a child sexual assault case . While working this case her roommate and friend Gwen goes missing Kendall meets Adam the officer working Gwen’s case. Kendall helps look into Gwen’s case when Gwen shows up dead questions start coming up that Ty, Gwen’s fiancé, is having trouble answering. We also follow Adam as he is also working a murder rape case but these cases start coming up with some similarities.
I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrator she made it easy to pick up on who you were following and kept you engaged. My issue with the story was it did not seem realistic there were to many coincidences to make the story believable. I also wish they would have just followed one case instead of three it made it seem unnecessary at times and I was mostly interested in Gwen’s case. It was an ok thriller but nothing that really stuck with me. I would like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for an opportunity to read this book for an honest review.
Finished, but this one was rough! Pedophiles have a special place in hell...even the fictional ones...subject matter aside, the story took forever AND it seemed a tad far-fetched...even for fiction! The bones are good and Denver, as a setting, was neat!

Kendall Beck has seen a lot as an FBI agent, but when her roommate and best friend goes missing and is later found dead she stops at nothing to find out what happened to her. At the time her roommate goes missing she finds a missing little girl who becomes the piece that helps solve the puzzle of what happened to her best friend Gwen.
Although on the longer side this was a great journey of following Kendall and how not only her past came back to haunt her but also dives into the risks those working for the FBI and other agencies face when working cases. I am glad that I was able to get the audio version as I am not sure I would have sat to read 75 chapters but I really enjoyed listening to it and highly recommend this as an audio book.

Good solid thriller, fast paced and compelling characters. While there wasn't a cliffhanger ending, it left the possibility to continue certain plotlines. I enjoyed that there was a good chemistry between the main characters without any forced romantic connection allowing the focus to be on solving the crime(s). The audio narration wasn't my favorite. It felt choppy and unevenly paced. .
This is another book that had me hooked from the first chapter. I love a good serial killer story, even if its fiction (you may wonder what's wrong with me), although he doesn't play a huge role in this story. An action packed story about an FBI agent working a case about a father pedophile, a local cop working a murder and then the death of the FBI agents best friend.
Kendall Beck is an FBI agent who lives with her best friend, Gwen. Gwen owns and helps run a local restaurant with her fiancé Ty. While Kendall is working the molestation case, Gwen goes missing one weekend and Kendall has alarm bells going off inside and knows that something isn't right. At the same time, a local cop, Adam Taylor, is working a murder/body dump case and starts to realize that they might be connected to a string of serial murders in the area. As the cases progress, the pedophile, the murder of her best friend and the serial murders, a killer comes into focus and its pulse pounding action to see if they'll catch their man before he escapes or kills again.
I really liked this story. I felt all three cases were tied together in a believable way. The descriptions of the crimes were intense but I'm used to reading things like that as I like to read true serial murder cases but if that's something you don't like then I would skip this story. The characters are well thought out and have rich backgrounds with potential for future showings. The ending was all wrapped up although I felt a hint that maybe The Reaper, as the serial killer has been dubbed in this book, may still be out there, I'm not sure if this is a book series or not but I would definitely read more from this author and would like to see more stories involving Kendall in the future. I received this book free from NetGalley for an honest review.
