“The world might hate you for your choices, people will expect you to feel things, but don’t cater to them. Cater to yourself and what you believe is right. Make your heart strong enough so that it can withstand everyone hating you even when you love them” ~ Liam Callahan to just daughter
I love the Ruthless People series way more than this series. Ruthless People is far more superior but I still love this series too.
The ending of this book is what brought it to a four star (I rated all four of ruthless people a 5)
Some of these characters go from being important to seeming unimportant within a few chapters whereas in the first series, every character was and felt important. I can’t help but compare these two series

What the hell is going on? Really!!! I cannot process it all. One moment I was bored and the next everything happened all of a sudden and I just could not. I almost gave this 2 stars but it ended with not only one bang but TWO!!!!! The craziness is just starting. J.J. McAvoy is causing chaos. I AM IN LOVE WITH HER MIND.
“Death had a smell.
It wasn’t the type of smell that brought vultures.
It was the type only certain living people could smell. People who’d come close to losing their lives one too many times, who’d been living on the edge of death’s door”
I could not connect with Donatella like Melody. They were very different. Melody was an acceptable bitch, Donatella not so much. I don’t know why but I could not bring myself to love her. It always like she was trying too hard. However, I admired her passion. She was so damn passionate and she was hiding it all. I liked certain aspects of her character. It was obvious that no matter what she did, she loved her brothers.
“The way she stared at me sent shivers down my spine. How could any man not want to tame such a fearsome beauty? To have this…her, that fire on their side?”
Gabrielle hid a lot. He was like a panadora box. I loved the mystery behind him and the facade he managed to uphold. I did not love him. He was an okay character. I could not relax with him being around. I liked him alright. He and Donatella were sure make a lovely couple.
“loving people is easy even though it may not seem like it. But if two people are trapped on an island with only each other to rely on, they will fall in love. Attraction is important. But love… That comes from two people forming a bond. Knowing that one other person is always in your corner. Will always stand by you. Fight with you. Love is what happens when you are fully and brazenly able to trust and depend on another person.”
The Callahan family never rest. Them and their children of ambition. No rest for the evil.

Another wonderful book by my diva J.J.Mcavoy!!!!
"Show me a strong women and I will show you the scars in her soul that made her so."
Jesus what a quote?!!
Donatella was everything. I always had a soft spot for her because she is the closest thing to Mel.
It was heartwarming to read Ethan talking about the love, that their mother had for them, how they came to value what she did, because at some point they really get it why she pushed them so much.
And I felt bad for Dona because she wanted to rule but she "couldn't", she really wanted to be respected to be the woman of the family like Mel once was.
This book had me on edge, ohhh I could not relax. It was really well written, Gabriel was very mysterious and keep me guessing, I did not see it coming!!

It was ot of this world amazing to be reunited again with my favorite couple (Mel and Ethan), Ahh How much I wished to read more about then, Thanks!!!
The end of the book had me like

I did not get it, I'm still at shock, WTFHow can Ivy be dead, it doesn't make sense,
poor Ethan
And guess what?? My Dona is getting her own series

This book was quite great!
Everything was going well for it in my opinion, it even changed my mind about Dona, I mean we even reached the epilogue and all was still well, but I had this nagging feeling, this voice whispering "you're reading a J.J. McAvoy novel, where's the pain you should be feeling and the tears you should be shedding" And then, I reached the 2nd epilogue and boom! There's the pain, hollowness, tears and anger I've been anticipating since I finished book 1!

Kinda disappointed 🙊 First of all there were SOOOO MANY GRAMMATICAL ERRORS it drove me insane 🙈 Second, this book was basically a prologue to another spin off just for Donatella. The suspense part was really the only thing that kept me reading...and then when i found out i was just like oh 🤷🏾♀️
JJ McAvoy cant seem to top ruthless people. The first children of vice was OK and this one was just meh. Wyatts book better be kick ass. The prologue to his book is included and it was confusing...so heres hoping 🤞🏾

Questionable Italian aside, this was entertaining, but it felt more like a beginning than a book that starts and ends with a full story
