That was dark.

The twists are interesting enough to keep reading. The artwork is brilliant. Good series to follow for those interested in storytelling outside of the superhero/tropes world.

My favorite art style for graphic novels, AND a compelling and well-written story!

The coloring on this series continues to be some of the best out there. It's fantastic and worth a read just for a chance to enjoy it.
Storywise, it takes off running and introduces some interesting characters and plot points. Some of the details that bothered me on the first volume are still present (mainly expecting the reader to know pantheons), but the plot is gathering steam and heading in a very intriguing direction.
It definitely ends with quite a bang and is a series worth following.

Spännande och intressant precis som första albumet. Men alltså, det borde vara förbjudet med cliffhangers av den här typen! INTE okej!

Not quite as good as the first volume. I enjoyed the Lucifer plot from volume one more than the somewhat half-hearted search for her murderers in volume two. The divine beings in this one weren't quite as interesting as the ones from the first one either. Hopefully the novelty doesn't wear off and we get a little more depth in the next issues, but still really really good.

This series just makes me think of the phrase “for the aesthetic.” The story doesn’t entirely appeal to me, although I think it should. The lead character doesn’t entirely appeal to me, although I think it should. The plot doesn’t interest me all that much, although I think it should.

At a certain point I start to wonder if I collected the series because it’s so damn pretty.

I like that Gillen focuses on the youth and what they can do with the power of their belief and faith. The whole thing speaks to how music can make you feel and how fandom itself doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. Sure, it leads to some people taking it way too far but not all fandom is a bad thing. I like that it doesn’t present millennials as annoying, seemingly know it all idiots running around making mistakes.

The art is absolutely breathtaking and I commend every issue for that. The colors are phenomenal as well

Where it loses me is that I guess I just don’t find Laura all that interesting or relatable. I know, I know, that’s kind of the point. She sort of ends up in this mess trying to be interesting but I’ve read stories about this type of character before (the plain guy that just wants to be part of something special) and it’s always pretty hit or miss (mostly miss) for me. Perhaps because, in the interest of concealing whatever trait will make them special down the line, they don’t seem to be that strongly characterized in any way shape of form. Aside from just being a big fan girl, I can’t really glean anything from Laura’s personality. Aside from the fact that she’s kind of a dick to her kind parents.

And, at its core, those traits aren’t traits I’ve ever strongly identified with so... the only character I could sort of see myself enjoying reading more about is Innana. I sort of wonder why we couldn’t center the story around them?

So, it’s a somewhat interesting premise but I just can’t get sucked in because I don’t find our protagonist all that interesting.

What does it say about me that I like the underworld gods the best? I'm looking at you, Baphomet and the Morrigan.
