Just a few pages in and I could tell this was over-the-top pretentious or maybe just too British for me to totally get what's going on. I'm bummed because the set up sounds great! After reading a few pages and being totally turned off I read a few reviews that solidified the vibe I got flows all the way through. Not for me.

More like 3.5 for me. The ending is really what hooked me back in because I consider the beginning two thirds not super enticing. It was obvious which characters were insufferable and the good guys. At times the writing seemed a little goofy? I couldn’t tell what the vibe really was. But since this is a series I’d be intrigued to keep going, especially if it involves Rupert.

Meh. Confusing beginning. Interesting middle. End was a let down.
