I have been following the author on instagram for quite some time now. But for some reason, I had never picked up one of her books. Until now!

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I liked the MMC a lot, I love the idea of an Ex-NFL star (especially because I’ve been watching so much football recently). I thought the romance and the spice between the two main characters was done well.

I do think that this would have been better with a little bit more of a slow burn. It just kinda goes from 0 to 100 in the very beginning and I would’ve liked for it to be a bit more gradual. Also, I enjoyed the amount of page time we got with the characters being together but it didn’t really seem like there was a plot until the end.

If you’re seeking a book that is heavy on the spice and slim on plot, I urge you to read this. Lots of very detailed spicy scenes, but the actual storyline was lacking for me. I wish there was a little more tension and anticipation, instead we hit the ground running and didn’t slow down. Middle of the road for me.

When Avery was 13 she got new neighbours and instantly became best friends with 13 year old Lucas, she also because instantly obsessed with his dad Theo.
When home from summer and winter break, Avery finally finds the courage to go over what she wants,Theo.
Now, after graduating from college she’s home for good and she wants so much more than just those two times with Theo.
While Theo is attracted and drawn to Avery in a way he never thought would be possible, he is struggling with their age gap and the fact that his son Lucas has been in love with Avery for years.
But once they get a taste of each other none of that seems to matter.

This book was amazing. The dirty mouth on Theo was just perfection. The spice in this book was top tier.
Would definitely recommend.
