The romance I've been waiting for eight books and a novella finally paid off, so yay! I've never cared about a fictional couple so much, and I swore if they didn't get together in this book I would riot (thankfully I don't have to riot. In addition to that, I also like how much Sophie grew in this book. I can really tell how much she's grown as a character and her characterization in this book was spot-on, especially with Keefe being gone.

Another thing I liked was how some of the massive questions we've had the whole time have finally been answered. It was clear that Shannon was tying up some loose ends, making me really hopeful that this will be the last book. I really enjoy this series, but it needs to end. It's too long and too dragged out.

I also really enjoyed Ro in this book. She was so much fun and I loved her and Sophie's interactions. It was also fun to see the gang back at Foxfire. The magical school aspect was one of the main reasons why I like this series so much.

Besides the romance, not a lot happened in this book. It was probably 97% dialogue and 3% actual action. I've always had that struggle with the keeper books, and maybe it's just because I'm well beyond the target audience, but Shannon really needs to cut. This series could have been five or six books if some of the needless conversations were cut out.

I also think there are way too many characters in this series. And it just keeps growing. I really wish some of the characters would be cut, I feel like other than Sophie and Keefe, a lot of the other characters lack characterization because there are just SO many of them.

My main gripe remains that nothing has happened in the last couple of books though. Also, do have Keefe gone for 85% of this book was just mean!

๐‚๐ก๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ:
Nothing else really matters though because we FINALLY got the scene between Sophie and Keefe that we've been dying for and even though it wasn't nearly long enough or drawn out enough for me, I'll take it because it was MAGICAL. I am so glad that all of my sufferings paid off and that I stuck with the series long enough to see Team Foster-Keefe happen. I don't even care about the plot anymore. If these two don't have a happy ending I will never read another book again. To say I'm anxious about book ten (and possibly book eleven is an understatement. I'm just crossing my fingers that we get more sokeefe content and that I get a nice epilogue as I got in the HP series. I'll be rereading this chapter every single day until book ten is in my hands! '

Overall this book has the same issues as the rest of the series, but it still remains so near and dear to my heart and I'm so glad to see that my favorite ship has finally sailed.

I want to start this off by saying that I did enjoy this book. I had a lot of fun reading it!
But it just seems so unnecessarily long. Thereโ€™s so many scenes and conversations that go on for so many pages and I think a lot them shouldโ€™ve been trimmed down. Thereโ€™s no need for relatively unimportant scenes to last 50 pages or more.

Vague spoilers:
Most of this book felt like the characters talking about what theyโ€™re going to do than actually doing anything. And I know theyโ€™re trying to figure stuff out and thatโ€™s not always action-based, but I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s a enough good excuse for how little happens in this book.
I didnโ€™t mind it too much honestly, because of how much I enjoyed seeing all the characters again and

Less vague spoiler:
watching them all hang out at Foxfire.

But I canโ€™t ignore that I think this is just a weak book overall.

ACTUAL SPOILER!
I will say that Iโ€™ve wanted Sophie and Keefe together for the last six years and it made really happy seeing that!
I also really like that Alden doesnโ€™t show up even once in this entire book, he gets one or two mentions and thatโ€™s it! And I hope it stays that way
