Not for me

This was just really depressing. A dysfunctional, witchy family, but the witch stuff never really came into play in any fun or exciting way.

Dnf for now. I like the concept but the characters are so one dimensional that I’m having a hard time keeping everything straight. I might come back to this or I might not. I just feel more confused the further I get in to the book. I’m struggling to understand what the point of the book even is.

So this book started off super slow and it took me way too long to get into it. A bunch of super bratty rich kids, with magical gifts. That's basically what this book is, based in the 1970s, there are a lot of themes in the book that I didn't enjoy. I did enjoy some of the characters, but not all.

Not sure what I expected

But I got deeply entranced by this book. I read it at first because the cover looked cool and I am so glad that I did. I look forward to reading more.
