Really really beautiful memoir turned story -- I struggled a bit with the poetry because I'm not super good with poetry, but I do love this book. Looking forward to more of his work

4.5 A gluttonous feast of metaphor.
In the briefest of moments, perhaps too much. But mostly just a gorgeous telling of the wreckage of war, the intimacy of shared pain, and the collision of lives doing nothing more than trying to hold onto whatever beauty life hands them. Turns of phrase and callbacks abound in stunning fashion
I listened to the audiobook and would definitely recommend that form. It’s spoken by the author, who has a distinct cadence that I believe is integral to the hearing of the story.
