This book really changed my worldview on introversion! It was amazingly researched, citing lots of different examples of introverts in very different situations. I loved Cain's focus on how introverts function in schools, and her inclusion of lots of educational research to support it. It made me think deeply about how much more talk I've been trying to include in my instruction lately, and I'm glad that so much of it is in small groups or just between one student and myself, which according to Cain, is the ideal scenario. I will definitely be thinking about alternatives for introverted students, but also for my extroverts as well. Cain didn't leave them out of the book--I actually learned a lot about what sustains my crazy loud students too.
Overall, I recommend this very readable book to everyone! I learned a lot about how to raise my future (probably introverted) kids, how to organize a classroom to benefit both kinds of kids, and all about how many famous historical figures were classic introverts (Da Vinci, Rosa Parks, Lewis Carroll, etc.). Please read QUIET!

Officially DNFing. Not because it was bad, but because it was mostly info I was already aware of and it was a little boring as a result. I do recommend if you want to learn more about introverts and how they work.

My childhood makes more sense now. Great book for introverts and extroverts! Extroverts can learn about introverts and introverts can understand their selves better. There's nothing wrong with being an introvert!
It's so nice to find a book that really explains you. So very nice to feel understood. And I think the story of Greg and Emily's marriage could have done a bit for my own.
I could have lived without the business and financial law context that a lot of the book was set in, though I understand that is the background that Cain is working from.
