The book starts off with a dramatic car crash and you meet Hayden, who seems to have a lot on his mind but you don't really get into it. Despite being injured, he gets out to help the two teenagers who crashed into him. This is when he meet Eric, a paramedic, before he passes out. Months later, they two men meet up in a bar and head home for one night. While they develop a sort of friendship, because neither of them are ready for a full on relationship, they keep meeting up with a friends with benefits arrangement and slowly fall for each other. This is a slow-burn while both men move on from past hurts. A sweet read!

Summary - Hayden is a physiotherapist who has sworn of relationships after the death of his husband. Eric is a paramedic who has also sworn of relationships after his breakup with his long-term girlfriend after she cheated on him. When Hayden is in a car accident and Eric is the paramedic on the scene the pair meet for the first time. Fate seems to have idea's of her own and keeps throwing the two together, can these two give in to what they both need or will their pasts stop them from getting what they both want and need?

What I thought about this book - I loved this book. Hayden and Eric are both really loveable characters, This story is such a sweet story full of love. The plot is easy to follow, well written and really enjoyable. 5* read, a really good read, hopefully, this will be a series, would love to hear more from these two characters.

I enjoyed Hayden and Eric's love story. The story has main characters that were very relatable. Also, FINALLY a book that doesn't have random miscommunications that causes conflict throughout the series. It was a open and honest communication that kept me enthralled. I always champion books where I am able to fall in love as the MC's fall in love with each other.

The writing was so superb that as you read you feel hopeful about finding love outside of the book in the real world. It also makes you think about how slight chance encounters can make great impacts throughout your life. The emotions read as being a real love story with real people.

A wonderful standalone book that I will definitely recommend.

3.5 stars.
It was fine. Yes, that’s lukewarm praise. The characters were nice, their connection was good if not predictable, the sex scenes were a bit steamy, but it was a miss for me. Not sure if it was because I’ve read really angsty & emotional books before this. I felt like I kept waiting for something to happen - there was one point of drama near the end but it was resolved so quickly it seemed a lost opportunity.
