Even though I wasn’t too sure at first, I enjoyed reading this book so much. I ended up not being able to put it down! It was just what I needed - a fun, light-hearted and lovely story to put me in a good mood. And it did just that :)

Well, this was absolutely delightful and lovely. I’m not usually enamoured with the “quirky girl” trope, but this toed the line well and I really enjoyed Hazel and her ‘Hazel-ness’. I also found this was one of the better friends-to-lovers tropes I’ve read. The relationship that develops between Josh & Hazel seems so genuine and their opposite personalities meshed into great chemistry. And the epilogue?? One of my favourites ♥️

such an amazing, lighthearted lovestory - exactly what i needed right now! we get to know josh and hazel through their different pov's which helps us understand both of them better - and love them even more! extremely well-crafted characters, a funny and incredibly cute lovestory with some ups and downs and lots of not-telling-the-other-one-my-feelings-for-them. i loved the book a lot and read it in less than a day...but as the ending felt a bit too rushed and i wasn't entirely sure of the whole
pregnancy thing
which also seemed a bit rushed i have to deduct 0.25 points.

ok i know some people have problems with hazel, but i find her to be one of the most lovable and genuine characters i have ever read. yes, she is crazy and quirky and fun, but it’s done in a way that makes her feel so real rather than manic pixie dream girl. josh im… i just… want to know where men like this actually are so i can go find them and date them, he is the sweetest book boyfriend ever! the main reason i’m not giving this 4 stars is bc there is a twist that was both extremely predictable and also lead to one of my least favorite tropes in a book. that being said, it was still a cute book with a happy ending, just felt a little bit rushed.

This is one of the best books I’ve read by them. I cried it was so amazing granted I did finish it at 4 am. I love Hazel and the secondhand embarrassment I felt for her. Josh was perfect.  Overall I would read again. An absolutely   amazing friends to lovers.

This was… a mess.
The synopsis is what caught my eye, so I was then disappointed to learn that it’s not really a good summary/ description of the plot.
The characters were okay. They were a little two dimensional and Hazel was not quite as funny as she was supposed to be, but they were still entertaining.
The relationship between Josh and Hazel as well as basically all the other relationships just fell a little flat to me. There was just that spark missing that made it all believable. It was still okay, just nothing special. What really ruined it for me was the last 20% though.
I hate the surprise pregnancy trope, so I was very unhappy when Hazel realized she was pregnant. And when they made me believe that she miscarried her baby, the book was kinda ruined.

I didn’t have high expectations for this book but I still was a bit disappointed.

The first 75% was fine, 3 stars probably - your usual romcom fluff. I didn't find Hazel annoying as some other readers did, the premise is good, and the writing style is sharp and flows nicely, which all contributes to the 0.25 stars I am giving it. But the ending is so out-of-the-blue, forced, and frankly horrendous that I seriously considered leaving it at 0 stars. To be fair, I already hate the trope in the ending, but I could have forgiven it if it wasn't handled so poorly that it tarnished the (fairly decent) rest of the book.
