I truly enjoyed this book. This is my first time reading a book by Ms. J. California Cooper and it was a hit. Each story took me to a different place, on a different journey through time. I wish I read this book when I was in HS. So many lesson.

I loved every short story in this book. J. California Cooper expertly creates scenes and characters with her words l. I could see and hear every character and felt like a knew them.

This is the third collection of stories by J. California Cooper that I've been able to get my hands on...I adore this woman! The stories are delightful, wise, and witty...it's like sitting on the porch gossiping with your bestie. The language of the stories immediately takes the reader into an intimate confidence, and I can't wait to find another collection of hers.
