Fictie, maar doorspekt met de nodige feiten. Een mooi boek om inzicht te krijgen in de slavenhandel. Een geweldig hoofdpersonage ook, krachtig maar niet foutloos, zo heb ik ze graag.

Outstanding!! This is one that will stay with me for awhile...I can't remember the last time I thoroughly loved a heroine as much as Aminata. There are usually things about a book that I would "fix", but not this book and not this character. Absolutely engaging, moving, horribly mortifying but yet somehow still inspirational.
