venho aqui refutar aquele post do tumblr e dizer que: se eu tivesse lido esse antes de ler a quadrilogia principal eu continuaria odiando a levana da mesma maneira.
explica muitas coisas do comportamento dela? explica, mas foi mal ai gente, a maluquice e mau caratismo é crédito dela própria.
de qualquer maneira eu amo histórias de origens de vilões então aproveitei o livro (li em menos de 10 horas) e sinto que a autora podia ter se aprofundado um pouco mais em alguns pontos!

Not quite sure what the point was here. I get that it's a tragic origin story but Levana is just SO bad, so irredeemably evil from the start that it was more frustrating than anything. In the beginning, she's a young girl searching for love but is so delusional that she doesn't even know what love is. She does know that she's torturing her guard though, and she continues to do it. There is no effort to change in any way. It was disturbing and made her seem more two-dimensional than a complex villain. I think it should have been tempered with other points of view, maybe Winter's or baby Cinder's.

really sad and really REALLY messed up. i started feeling sympathy for Levana cause her sister is so awful but like—Levana is disgusting tooooo—but i think its better that we hate her cause shes awful. a lotta stuff that happened in the series makes more sense now

honestly, it's a really well done story and I guess I can see why someone would want to see Levena's point of view, but truthfully I didn't need it lol I just wanted to finish the series off and this is part of it. while I like the other stories in the short story book I'm working through while writing this, this one was eh. I know we're supposed to see her as more of a fully rounded character after reading this, but truthfully it wasn't needed. I didn't need to know the truth (about who she does and doesn't murder) or how some of her terribleness started with genuine desire to be a good queen. it doesn't change my mind on her being a terrible one and worth what happens to her in Winter.
I would say the best part of this story was getting to see baby winter and jacin haha
