Not really a story that needed to be written, but I read it because I wanted to complete the series. Everyone sucks in this except for Everet

Jsem tak trochu na vážkách ohledně celého příběhu Levany.
Na jedné straně mi jí je strašně líto. To co se ji v dětstvi stalo, si nezaslouzila. Stejne tak si nezaslouzila to prehlizeni. Kazdy si zaslouzi aspon nejakeho pritele..
Na druhé straně ji vidím jako psychicky narušeného člověka, co zije ve svem vlastnim svete. Vidim ji jako cloveka, ktery se vzdal nadeje a rozhodl se, ze za kazdou cenu bude ona kralovna a ona bude konecne videna jako ta nejlepsi ze vsech. Ona vsechny zachrani a jen diky ni bude Mesic dokonaly. Vzdyt to prece ona vse zlepsovala ne jeji sestra ani nikdo predtim. Ostatni panovnici byli zli a spatni. Za to Levana, je jednoduse prava kralovna. A tak se rozhodne, ze vse co doposud dobyvala zahodi a udela vsechno pro to, aby zustala kralovnou a nakonec ziskala i samotnou Zem. A je kvuli tomu ochotna i vrazdy..

Goddam this is one of the most devastating books I've ever read. It's just plain depressing how she had Winter's father manipulated, like this mentality of hers was insane. She as a SIXTEEN year old rejoiced in the death of his wife (died in childbirth) then manipulated his thoughts and feelings until he gave up and gave into his abuse and he's oh ALMOST TEN YEARS OLDER. (Also I'm talking straight mind control) This poor man lost his wife, rights to his own life and would later die by her order all because she was deranged. Because yes Channary was cruel and yes channary manipulated her into fire and caused her scars and with that made her hate herself but gurl why not just take her out before. Also the fact that you attempted to kill your niece the same way her mother tortured you? She was 3...THREE. Orchestrated the murder of your own husband which you immediately regretted, but honestly I'm happy that he died, he was finally free of her. Though poor Winter. All in all this gurl was insane I couldn't even feel bad for her, this royal family is downright out of their minds. Honestly she didn't die a painful enough death for me. Screw her. 4.8⭐️ (I wish there was more tbh)

I can't say that I enjoyed this book! What Levana does is extremely disturbing, and in one way I might have been happier to have left it unread and gone straight on to read Winter (I really enjoyed Cress) - I won't know for sure about that until I read Winter! But I think Marissa did a good job of writing such a sociopathic, evil character in close third person limited POV, who has complete absence of empathy for others, and giving her a believable backstory. She manages to have Levana feel more rounded and interesting despite her outright evilness, and that is no mean feat.
