Hitomi-chan is Shy with Strangers, Vol. 1 (My Kindle Review)

We follow high school sophomore Yuu who gets a big surprise in the form on new freshman Hitomi, a tall busty tomboy who is shy and is having socializing troubles due to her intimidating looks. However, her new friend helps her out and she quickly makes friends with his little sister Kaori, some neighborhood boys and one of her teachers. Of course, her relationship with Yuu gets a bit interesting.

It definitively has a few similar traits to “Komi Can’t Communicate” but our title character is less quiet and smiles like a shark. They’re a lot of funny and sweet moments in this more than simple manga. A- (91%/Excellent)

This was a solid first volume! Not the most original concept and the art is doing anything new or crazy, but Hitomi's and Usami's friendship is genuinely cute and their interactions are fun. Despite the plethora of fan service, it looks like Hitomi's and Usami's (possible) future relationship is going to be wholesome and sweet, which I will 120% support. I'm curious to see how far the "Hitomi's scary appearance scares people" plotline is going to last and whether a new one will replace it later down the line.

Overall, this was a fun, quick read. If you're interested in a cute rom-com with some fan service, give this a shot.

Really enjoyed reading this, Hitomi-chan is so Darn Cute even when she smiles awkwardly with her shark shaped teeth!

I've read a few series similar and enjoyed each one so I'm positive I will love this one too, its already off to a great start!
