The movie makes Miranda look like a saint. She is a full-on devil in the book and there is no love for her at all.
I decided to read this book after having seen the movie. As always, the book is better. It was a good story, enough that I will put it into my reread pile.

VASTLY different from the movie. Since I saw the movie first, I immediately knew I'd like the book even more...not so. In the book, I found Andy whiny and annoying. Plus, the differences between the book and movie are numerous. The movies seems to be loosely based on the book. Some things are similar but most things are extremely different.

-1 Star for "costuming."
A book about fashion (such a visual medium) holds less weight than the movie it inspired.
If you love the movie, reading the book is like enjoying the director's cut. Entire scenes and characters that wouldn't fit into the screenplay make it a sufficiently entertaining read of a story you think you already know. The can easily be generalized as "chick lit," but I think that would be unfair. It's was a a lot more comical than I expected. This is the rare inverse of "read the book, then enjoy the movie."
That's all.
