Great chick lit! Liked the book better than the movie.
Usually I'm able to divorce a book from the movie I previously enjoyed, but this time. Not really.
I have a positive comment that casting Simon Baker as Christian Thompson in the movie was the absolute perfect choice. Oh That Smile.
What to expect if your a fan of the movie:
M.P. is the same overbearing unreasonable boss that everyone fears. That's all.
Andrea. Andrea is a spoiled girl who goes into the workplace with a miserable attitude. I just didn't like her and couldn't side with her against her boss, as she was constantly of the attitude of 'F the police ' as my son would phrase it.
Right from the beginning, she had no respect for the fact that she was the hired help, and it was actually her responsibility as an assistant to get things done in a timely and efficient manner. I'm not saying that her job wasn't insanely demanding or ridiculously high stress or that MP had unreasonable expectations . Just saying that there aren't many bosses who would put up with her attitude.

I really liked this book, but it stressed me out to read it.
I adored how gossipy this is. I'm a huge fan of the film, so the fact I only now have read the book is insane. The narrator was fabulous at doing the voices, especially Miranda's.

Really nice job world contemporary story. I really liked the character and the whole boss relationship in a high power world was interesting.
It wasn’t as terrible as I expected. It was entertaining and enlightening about working at vogue magazine, ehem runway magazine. It did in parts feel contrived and trite especially at the end but did relate with Andrea Sack’s cynicism as I have worked in a high power corporate environment and found it soul crushing. Also, it brought to mind Bright Lights Big City. I suspect there’s a genre of stories about driven young people who come to the city only to get chewed out by it. Catcher in the Rye, the Great Gatsby are two classics that feel part of it.
