This book is a great way for people to learn about how a first job can be and reflect on their own career experiences, however this book has racist, sexist scenes and is likely incredibly triggering for people with eating disorders and suffering from addiction.
Honestly, this is one of the rare occasions where I liked the movie better. There were some plot twists that weren't in the movie that I actually liked, but otherwise I found this to be kind of monotonous and predictable. Now I just want to watch the movie!!!

I love the movie and have always wanted to read the book. I was shocked by how different the book is from the movie. The book focuses on character & story development outside of her work-life much more than the movie does (which focuses on character development of the main cast of colleagues). The storyline feels darker, more dramatic, and plays out a bit more realistically in the book. There are complete characters and storylines in the movie that don't exist in the book and vice versa. Definitely recommend it! It was a quick, easy read...very easy to get lost in the story.

I had the misfortune of reading this after I watched the movie. I was thrown by how different the book was from the movie that was made from it...and pissed the movie strayed from the book so much!
Liked the movie better than the book...and wel thats saying a lot for me...
