Surprisingly, the movie was better.

Remember, there is no Meryll Streep in this book. So most of the enjoyment gained from the movie is void in its literary version.

A nice quick read! Was a huge fan of the movie, so it was fun to compare to the screenwriter’s version. Reading the sequel next!

I love the movie so much and I've watched it countless times. The book wasn't as iconic to me, but I didn't expect it to live up to it. Miranda is so much worse in the book wow. In the movie the boyfriend is to me a villain, but here he is.. alright.

Weisberger, Lauren: Paholainen pukeutuu Pradaan (The Devil Wears Prada, 2003)

- Jooh.

This was a book that has sat on my shelf for a long time and has survived a few moves now. I decided to pick it up and read it given I want to make room for new books. I knew the general story already, for I have watched the movie a few times now; who doesn't like Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep?

This book kept me interested from beginning to end and was a good final summer read for me. There were some things not in the movie, but were in the book, like her alcoholic best friend Lily. That story I honestly felt could have been handled better or simply left out altogether. Her boyfriend, Alex was annoying in the book and I was relieved when they ultimately parted ways. First loves and college relationships generally never last in the long run, unless you somehow magically evolve together.

I liked the dynamic between Andrea and Miranda. I loved how she pronounced my name correctly in the book! It tickled me each and every time I read it. Christian I liked a lot and wished she had reached out to him or slept with him like she did in the movie.

However, there were a few minor editing flaws I caught. A she should have been a he and there were a few times where the writing didn't make sense from the previous paragraph. That annoyed me, especially since this is probably a popular book by now. Hence I gave a reduction in stars for the poor editing.

Overall, this is a book about navigating the tough world of fashion and finding your right path, a feel good story in the end ultimately.
