This book makes me want to reach into the book and simultaneously scream at and punch Miranda Priestly right in the face!! But well written and delightful.
3.5*

I have never read a more insufferable protagonist. She's entitled without self-awareness, and her moral code is dubious at best. She is constantly stealing and complaining while not acknowledging her own flaws. As for the friend and boyfriend, they are more sympathetic here while still feeling like actual 20-somethings.
Miranda herself is less visibly competent than the movie, but that makes ending work much better. While I wish we had gotten more development before Andrea's turn in the end, it was better than what I thought would happen.

I hate to say it and I rarely ever say it but the movie was much better than this book.

Stopped at page 125 - this is one case where the movie is better than the book. It was very repetitive and plain boring.

i really enjoyed this book- I did see the film a couple of years ago however it didn't really stick in my head, the book however I think will stick in my head as it was a fantastic read.
Unlike many people, I didn't find Andy selfish- i think I would have behaved exactly like her if I was in her position, apart from the ending (it did feel rather rushed). Lily, I had no sympathy for whatsoever, she is the sort of person i would dislike a lot- I struggle to like her. Alex is a bit selfish, and sometimes I did want t scream at him to understand how big this was for Andy.
The ending let me down, the way she just went back to her mum as quick as a flash sounded plain ridiculous and unlifelike. On the other hand, the other bits did interest me, and without the ending it felt like the perfect book.

This book was alright, took me a while to get into it. Mostly because I couldn't relate. But I did keep thinking how cool i would be do be Andrea and have all those designer clothes and shoes and bags and accessories!!!
I'm going to watch the movie now, see if that one is a little better?

Ok. Some parts don't make any sense, aka a contradiction on one page from something that was said the page before. Also a little long.

I love this book. I have a hard time finding books about girls fresh out of college, looking for jobs and enjoying city life without it being cheesy or predictable. But this book was smartly written, the characters were well-drawn and very relatable.
