Alex Cross, Run

James Patterson

Alex makes some dumb moves in the installment of James Patterson's longest running series. But moreover, the story seemed to be lacking a bit in excitement. The killers are kind of one-dimensional and boring. The two 'main' cases were carbon copies of everything else you've ever read. The third case that Alex doesn't even know if happening was much more interesting and Patterson didn't even really get into it too much.

Maybe this is proof positive that Patterson is completely losing his touch. These are the only books that he writes by himself and the last few just haven't been as good as they used to be.

I read this out of order of the series (which is unusual for me but somehow I skipped it along the way) and it really helped me fill in the gaps on a series that I've been loyal to since Book 1! I always feel like endings are rushed in the later Patterson books but I liked both story lines a lot.

This novel doesn't disappoint. It has all the elements that make up a great Cross stew, from villains you will hate to the hero, Alex Cross, you'll love.

One of the great things about Cross is that he's not a perfect hero. He's just a good man who is trying to do his best in a crazy world.

I can't wait for book 21.

It's Alex Cross (according to James Patterson), the stories are pretty predictable, but does it matter?! We all love Alex. Lol

another great read... but it didn't say if Alex found those microphones in his house!!! 😂

Another great Alex Cross novel!

I always enjoy a good Alex Cross book because the character is one of my favourites. As this was no different.

Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Some things seemed to skip ahead rather suddenly, but I think my familiarity with the characters and series as a whole makes these novels just fly by. Love reading them - they're interesting, entertaining, and great for clearing away the biblio-cobwebs. I have the next on the series, but I'll read something else before diving into that.

The characters are so well-written that you get angry at Cross's next enemy.
