Life, what is it but a dream?

This novel made me realise how weird it is that the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen get confused all the time. The former is based on a playing card and demands people to be executed constantly, the second is based on a chess piece and is less threatening... but still rude. But honestly, I struggle to think of a character from these books who isn't kind of rude. Maaaybe the white knight, which I guess checks out symbolically.
