I read this in 10 days in 2020. It was one of the most moving, well-written, and heart-wrenching plots I have read, filled with characters that reached out of my phone screen to steal my heart and breath away.
Maybe after rereading I'll be able to write a better review.
For now, suffice it to say that it's one of my favorite stories right now. I'll patiently wait for the day when I can hold an official english translation in my hands.

I've only one thing to say : Chu Wanning best boy ever and deserves only happiness in life
Where do I start.....this is a very yikes premise but specifically the rape aspect. If you took that out, it would have gotten at least 4 stars from me. It is a similar vein to Captive Prince but somehow even worse because of all the shit going on and the many layers of the plot. Sometimes less is more but most importantly, the author's rape fantasy fetish or whatever ruined the story. It shouldn't even be labelled as a romance in any aspect. I'm so upset that I didn't heed the warnings and read it anyway. It really could have been a good story without (1) the rape plot (2) the age gap. There's my opinion. Wish fandom spaces of mxtx's novels would stop recommending 2ha. It paints mlm in a horrible light actually. I mean, the genre in an of itself is problematic so I shouldn't be surprised but I was so taken with mdzs and tgcf that I let myself get bamboozled.
I have never suffered so much emotional pain from a novel in all of my life, and I've read hundreds of books...
I don't think I'll ever recover from this.
