excellent! I love anything Jonathan Stroud writes and this was definitely no exception. This one can be read on its own but I wouldn't mind seeing more in this world. It now makes me want to re-read the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

I was a big fan of the Lockwood and Co books and tv show (rip) so I had high expectations for this book. It took me a long time to get into and I didn’t mesh particularly well with the setting, plot or characters sadly! That being said I felt the last 100 pages picked up and it did end up enjoying it a bit more. I think I would read the sequel but probably not straight away.
