I feel like I'm going into a slump so I decided to read this because I know Tessa Bailey won't disappoint. And I was right! It's not as good as IHOS but Tessa didn't fail to make me feel so many things here. The smut is a plus, of course. It's an insta-lust but I don't mind it that much.

I went into this book thinking I’d get a mafia romance. I didn’t get that. I thought I’d get a billionaire romance where the fmc gets showered in gifts and swept into opulence. I didn’t get that. Then I thought I’d get a cute swindling romance. I didn’t get that. What did I get? Nothing but disappointment!
This book was just the mmc getting constant boners and teasing but not actually doing anything. I didn’t really feel the spice once they actually did because the teasing was so overdone.
I hate when mc’s claim to have conviction and then don’t stick to it at all. Like Teresa seemed like she was only trying to save her brother because she had to not because she loved him and wanted him to be free. Like she rarely thought about him throughout this whole book despite him being her entire motivation for doing what she was doing. And she claimed she didn’t want to use her body but did just that. Like I get lust but do you want to save your brother or not!
I also thought it was a red flag that he literally destroyed her place of work so she had nowhere to go back to.
And all that whining about the dog for literally nothing to be wrong with him
