The book is very good, but it's very different from the movie. If you've seen the movie first, keep that in mind when reading the book. You will get very, very angry about the movie.

Horrible book about a stupid kid who's unbelievably self centered and always drunk. Nothing good about it at all.

this was beautifully written however sutter is the epitome of what I dislike in a guy so it was hard but very interesting to read from his perspective. Aimee and I related so much especially in the movie. great contemporary overall!

probably one of the very few st orieswhere the movie was better than the book. The end was a bit dissapointing, but i guess relevant.

definitely not what i was expecting! hated the loose ends at the finish of this book! in total honesty i only read this book so i could watch the movie and after finishing it i’m surprised it became a movie at all. definitely not my favorite but didn’t hate it either.

not really my kind of book, but i do love the life of the sutterman and his crazy adventures. my favorite part was when sutter is teaching aimee on telling her mom to back off, it made me smile.

Am I the only person who doesn't like Sutter Keely that much? I know he has good intentions, or at least thinks he does - but he isn't a person I would like. I would be the person standing on the sidelines rolling my eyes at his lame jokes and antics and wondering when the hell he would grow up. I know I'm not being very sympathetic considering he's only an 18 year old kid and all, but still. He made Aimee his little project and seemed so proud of himself for trying to help her. In a way, I suppose, he did - he definitely helped her stand up for herself and get some confidence, but ultimately she's going to be crushed. I didn't really want them to end up together because I felt she deserved a lot better but I was hoping that he would change in the end of the book. I was hoping that he'd take a good, long, hard look at himself (ESPECIALLY after seeing his Dad and knowing that's the life he has to look forward to if he keeps on the path he has been on) and decide it was time to make a change. I kept waiting for that moment the whole book and when it finally came, it lasted all of a day which was disappointing. I expected more from Sutter and he failed me. I will say it was probably the most realistic ending though ... just not the one I wanted.
