Honoring Danielle Steel’s writing process, I’ll start with the characters from the novel Upside Down. Ardith Law, 62, is an Oscar-winning actor. She lives in Bel Air. Morgan Walker, 38, is Ardith’s only child and a successful plastic surgeon in NYC. Morgan is still angry that Ardith ignored her in favor of her career. Josh Gray, 41, is a talented, but struggling actor. Josh was assigned to be Ardith’s assistant. Ben Ryan, 63, is a very successful TV newsperson, who met Morgan when his doctor was unavailable. Unsurprisingly, these two upside-down couples fall in love and live happily ever after.

Thanks to Goodreads for a copy of this book.
This is a dual storyline between Arden an aging Hollywood actress and her daughter Morgan who is a plastic surgeon. There was a character I didn't like going in and almost didn't rate this 5 stars because of it but this changed as I got deeper in the book. I would recommend this book.

Danielle writes in a formula but it always has a twist or two. Enjoyable characters if completely implausible timelines. Always an easy, fast read.
Upside Down by Danielle Steel is about two couples where there is a large age difference. While I found the story to be easy to read, the storyline is predictable. The same details are repeated throughout the book (how many times do we need to be told about the age difference between the two couples, that Morgan resents her Mother, the unfaithful first husband, Josh’s loud motorcycle). The characters are cliched and lack development. I was not a fan of Ardith’s daughter, Morgan, or her older boyfriend, Ben. The pacing is mixed. I have read all of Danielle Steel’s books (I have been reading them since I was twelve), but this one is my least favorite. Upside Down is a story that does not require exerting many brain cells to get through it.
The amount of high ratings on this book tells me I am NOT the audience for this hot piece of garbage. Will not be reading any more of her books.
