Just After Sunset

Stephen King

3.63 AVERAGE

mysterious slow-paced

I’ve read a few Stephen King novels lately and enjoyed them, but most of these were simply average.

Classic Stephen King... reminded me a lot of the old Creepshow style stuff, but fresh and unpredictable too. Very nice to get back to basics with Uncle Stevie. :)

I love King short fiction and this was a great set of stories. I have to admit that "A Tight Place" had to be one of the most disgusting stories I have ever read, but I can't decide if that one or "N." was my favorite.

what can I say? It's Stephen King

Loved It! Stephen King is my favorite author to listen to in the car and his short story books are the best. Most stories where not from the Horror genre but all the stories hit at least one primal emotion... fear, love, sadness, hope, disgust, and even happiness. It's a nice way to spend time in a car.

Great short stories. As fans of SK know, he has moved away from the hardcore horror stories for the most part and into more "Twilight Zone" type of writing. The stories in this book have great characters and are touching -there are a couple dealing with 9/11. Even if you are not a big King fan, you may want to check it out.

What more can be said about Stephen King that has not been said one hundred different ways and a hundred times before?
This is one of the most eclectic collections of short fiction in King's entire bibliography, I say. There are the romantic-emotionally moving pieces, like my personal favorite, "WILLA." There is the adrenaline-pinching thriller like "THE GINGERBREAD GIRL," and the slow-burning horror piece like "N."
There isn't a weak story in this collected work of short stories. Each tale is fascinating, moving, thought-provoking, or just plain entertaining.
Stephen King, you rarely, rarely disappoint.

Long short stories with a focus that seemed to be mostlyh on the mind of a murderer and what consitutes a good reason for murder/vengance. His writing is entertaining and well drawn, and the best part is the author's afterword. He's done better, but this is still better than some of the other downloadable books from the library.
