I can never say enough about this book. It’s a HEART GRABBER. I read it not long after I became a widow and I understood all the emotions Holly went through.
when holly was falling asleep and said “gerry turn off the lights” I BAWWLEDDDDD.
i surprisingly loved this a lot despite it being insanely slow

A book that's very Marian-Keyes-ian in writing style & structure ... very easy to read, slightly transparent plotline, kept my attention well. Read all 400 pages in one night.

9/10 times the book is better than the movie. I found the 1/10.
Honestly, well done to the writer/director/producer of the movie for finding the gems from this story and using those to shape the movie. This book was 500 pages… which feels verryyy long for a romance story. I was disappointed in the character development, so while the ending was sweet enough, it still left me wishing for something different.

2024 Popsugar Reading Challenge: A book set in a travel destination on your bucket list
Are you OK, Holly? Sharon wrapped her arms around her friend's shoulders.
Holly sighed. 'Every time someone asks me that question, Sharon, I say, "I'm fine, Thank You," but to be honest i'm not. Do people really want to know how you feel when they ask "How are you? Or are they just trying to be polite? 'Holly smiled. The next time the woman across the road from my house says to me "How are you?" I'm going to say to her; well, i'm feeling a little depressed and lonely. Pissed off at the world. Envious of you and your perfect little family but not particularly envious of your husband at having to live with you.
Myself and Holly have something in common and that's that we lost people who were very dear to us and that piece of writing at the top is what I want to say when i'm feeling lonely and sad but i keep it all into myself because another thing myself and Holly have in common is that we keep our feelings into ourselves because we don't want to upset others by telling them how we really feel.
Holly has just lost her husband. The man she thought she was going to be with for all her life. Her best friend, her go to guy when ever she needed someone to lean on. This is a beautiful story of how Holly copes with the loss of a loved one. I could relate to a lot of this story as at the age of 28 i had lost both of my parents. I was lost as they were the people i went to for support. I chatted to them the most about everything and at the age of 32 i still find it really hard not to pick the phone up to listen to their voices. If only my mum had done what Gerry had done for Holly and leave 10 letters to give me guidance.
The book has some very sad moments in it but also very funny moments too. My husband looked at me a couple of times as i laughed into my kindle. P.S I LOVE YOU is a beautiful story and one that i have found some of my own answers in.

I thought it was a pretty good book all in all. Though at times it did seem to drag on, I still enjoyed reading it on the plane to help pass the time.
