PS I Love You

*spoiler alert*

I really don't know how I managed to pull myself through this book, I guess I don't like leaving things unfinished. But I was terribly bored from the beginning till the very end. Mixing clichés with trying not to be cliché didn't really work out either. The book was predictable all the way through, until the end which just leaves you thinking WHY?? Why in the world would Daniel want to be with that bitch? Nothing wrong with being different, but being unrealistic. After being bored the whole way through that just pretty much annoyed me. Plus I don't know many 30 year olds who act like 20 year olds, I seriously thought I was reading about women in their early twenties through most of the book...

Just watched the movie and this is the very first time you will hear me say say, the film was better than the book, hopefully it will be the last.
The only thing I did think was a shame was that the location wasn't Ireland but mainly New York and a little bit Ireland. Still I can even say I enjoyed the movie which I can't say about the book.

I loved this book. Yes it's very romantic and yes it's a heartbreaker, but love in this book is taken from a different point of view. Love from beyond the grave. The way this book is written is very clever. Most people read this in two parts and so did I. I loved the film too, but book is different and they changed quite a lot for the film so you won't be dissapointed reading the book if you've already seen the film.

2007
This was my favorite book of 2007 right there with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's the story of a Holly who is married to the love of her life Gerry, then Gerry dies from cancer and that just takes the life out of Holly. She just fades away. that is until she receives a package with 10 letters written to her by Gerry before he died to be opened a letter a month.. These letters guide her and help ease her pain for losing Gerry.. It was sentimentally romantic that touched me in so many levels.. It made me laugh and cry For Holly and Gerry.. I just LOVED it..

I got half way through this book, and I had to stop. I gave it a fair, honest shot but I can't get through it any further. I'm feeling a bit disappointed, because I really loved the movie adaption of this book, but the book really had no substance to it, in my opinion. Every other page felt like pointless rambling to fill pages. The only positive I will give it that I did enjoy a little bit was seeing Holly gradually start getting herself out there with Gerry's letters. Other than that, I got half way into the book and there STILL isn't any substance to this. The plot isn't going anywhere and you'd think half way in you'd kind of get a sense where it's leading, but nope. There isn't even a solid love interest yet so this can't even be considered slow burn. Half way in, there's no burn, period. I just can't be bothered to waste any more time on it. The movie is so different from the book, that reading the book after watching the film just made it such a let down. Usually books are better than the movie, but I truly didn't find it to be the case with this one. :( I'm not sure how the book received such a high majority rating. I guess my taste is just different from most other people who've read this book.

Brilliant book. It made me cry in places, but it was great to see Holly pull through in the face of adversity.
