PS I Love You

I don’t know if I’m getting pickier with books or whether I’m just reading a lot of bad books in a row. Probably a mix of both.

This book is supposed to be about grief and dealing with loss. I learned nothing about dealing with loss; I followed a bunch of 30 year old women who think they’re hilarious around for a whole book for no damn reason.

Literally the end of the book is just Holly going out for a drink with another man. That’s the only thing I learned from this book—eventually you’ll find a new man.

Horribly disappointed.

This book, in my opinion was written well. I loved how the story was told and it kept me interested. It is way better than the movie that came out years later. WAY BETTER.

Much, Much better than the movie. I highly recommend reading this if you liked the idea of the movie, but not the way it was executed.

Love, love, love this book but don't read it on an airplane unless you want to ugly cry in front of others.

The story line was cute - dead husband leaves letters for his mourning wife to open each month. But I really am not an adult fiction fan. So the swearing, alcohol consumption, and such were not my cup of tea. I felt the 3 main girlfriends acted more like teenagers than 30 year olds, and that bugged me too. Take all the junk out, and I would have enjoyed it more.

So glad I finally managed to read it after owning the book for nearly a decade.

Hey, so for those of you who saw this with me, I decided to read it...it was a bit different than the book though. It is a love story as you know, but not a mushy one, more of a deeper love. I read it right after Beloved, so I was kind of drained with being emotionally involved with books. It is such a sad situation, but what I liked is that it emanated hope as well. I really liked her writing style, I might read another of hers.

P. S. where is the romance in this story?

BOOK>movie. by far.
