My close friend, Priyanka, had recommended this book to me for quite some time. I had watched the movie so I was in no rush to read this book. I felt like I knew everything anyway. Well, I didn't. Not only because its had been a long time since I watched the movie but because it is a comprehensive view of someone's life after they loose a loved one. You can't get that in a movie even if it is 2 hours long.

This book shows grief in all its complicated emotions. The aim is not to make the readers cry. It is simply trying to show Holly discover what life and living looks like for her after the death of her husband. I laughed super hard reading this book, and felt deep sadness as well. I felt the loneliness Holly felt and felt yearning for the love Holly and Gerry had for each other. This book is reading about what happened with and around Holly for about 10 months, and feeling these emotions with her.

Even if someone had already watched the movie, I would recommend they read this book.

english title: P.S. I love you

It's so weird, this book is comforting & at the same time so boring?? Sometimes I had to force myself to read through - I also once dnf'ed this book after listening to 1/4 of the audiobook. But I once got the second book as a present (without them knowing that it is a series), so I kinda had to read it til the end.
& although I didn't enjoy a lot, there were manyy funny & ofc sad moment. I will also read the second book, but it will take a while
