A fast-paced thrill ride as I always expect from this author.
A high school English teacher foils a plot against the school by a former student. But instead of being hailed a hero, blackmailers come out of the woodwork and more and more secrets are undercovered. In trying to protect his family, Richard discovers even those relationships are not as they seem.
No real surprises in the end, but an enjoyable page turner to get you there.

Linwood Barclay is one of my favorites and I Will Ruin You did not disappoint. Often times I find his books have a little slower pace as they are very character driven, but this one had a faster paced feel. I really didn't want to set it down. I did guess some of surprises, but I still enjoyed seeing how the mystery played out. Richard did frustrate me a good deal of the time for just choosing the most stupid decision at every turn. That didn't really hinder my enjoyment of the story, though. I enjoyed this and am looking forward to Barclay's next one.
