An okay mystery. Well written and paced. The characters seemed well rounded and realistic. Some of the twists and cliff hangers felt a bit forced/cheap.

I love Linwood Barclay, I really do. Some of his books absolutely blew me away (A Noise Downstairs being top of the pile!)
But this one just didn't have 'it' for me. Yeah, it's a decent enough thriller that can be read as a pallet cleanser, but he's so much better than that.
I worked out who the main 'bad guy twist' was going to be pretty early on but there was at least one I didn't see coming.
An easy read that would be more enjoyable had I not read any Barclay before this one. But after reading some amazing things from him, this does fall short of his usual standard for me.
