I'm going to physically read this book before I rate it. I listened to the audiobook, and I don't think that was the right choice for me. I felt lost frequently- never quite sure who was speaking and having no clue how far back to go to figure it out. I definitely wasn't paying enough attention as I should have been at times (listening while driving or cleaning). Oh well. I'll try again.

This is a very weird, very abstract book. It’s hard to peek through the swirls of text to find the actual story - and once you do, it’s still difficult to parse out what’s really happening start to finish. It felt a bit like Djuna Barnes’s Nightwood - similarly, I think this book takes a very specific kind of reader to enjoy it, and that does not happen to be me today.
did jeff get really big into mmo shooters or something? i swear this is just the respawn cycle.

This book is absolute hot garbage. I usually give books I don’t enjoy a little credit but this book is a hot mess with zero redeeming qualities and that sucks because I think jeff is a great author with interesting ideas
