Very interesting to look into the diary of a young Jewish girl during the Second World War. I read it for french class but still quite enjoyed it.

Hay opiniones muy diversas de este libro, pero a mí particularmente me encantó.
Siento que comprendía mucho a Ana, lo que sentía, cómo se comportaba; en una situación como en la que se encontraba es fácil caer en la desesperación pero ella (con sus altos y bajos) supo sobrellevar la angustia de la manera en que solo una niña de 13 años puede. Poco a poco, Ana se convierte en una buena amiga del lector, siento que me caló profundo y sentí un vacío muy grande cuando terminé de leer. No es un libro para todo el mundo pero para mí fue uno de los mejores libros que leí en 2016 y lo recomiendo muchísimo.

I just don't even know what to say about this book. It offered a unique insight to the thoughts and fears of those living during WWII.

Wow, this was a heavy book. As other people have said, it's hard to give this 'book' a rating as it's not just a book, it's someone's diary. A collection of someone's innermost thoughts and feelings through a particularly crucial time in their life. So it feels strange to assign it a star rating, but I have done so anyway.
Anne was certainly a very clever girl and this diary really showed her critical thinking skills and just the way she thought about the world and those around her. After finishing this, I feel a bit strange, like my heart feels really heavy knowing that this girl never got to see the impact her writing has had on the world and that her hopes and dreams for a better life and world never came true. It also feels weird because in some parts it didn't feel like I was reading a diary from 80 years ago, it felt like a book. My mind kept going back and forth from trying to realise that this is real life, this is true history and I'm reading it right now. I feel it's a true privilege that we get to read this diary to know just how much Jewish lives were impacted by the Nazi regime and to gain insight into how a young girl interpreted the world around her. I think this diary has truly changed how I see the world and made me understand the absolute privilege I have to live in the time and place that I do. Annes was just a beautiful, creative life that was cut too short.
Overall, I think everyone should read this in their lives to truly change the way they think and feel about the world in the past, present and future.
